Having climbed the steps, turn right. Continue on the lane, over the stream, and then follow the track.

After the stile, bear left past the rear of the barn.

Over the stile, and follow the track in front,
for 200 yards or so; at the track fork, go to
the right of the bushes.

Go over the stile in the left hand corner of the field.

At the track, turn right.
|
At the gate, take the footpath to the right.
|
At the stile, turn right, and follow the lane.
|
Follow the path across the pasture...

Then down into the corner of the field.

Continue on muddy path for 200 yards.

At the top of the hill ( gate in front ), take
the right hand stile.

At the track, turn right to the gate, and stile.
|
Continue on the route, bearing slightly left (note views of Matlock, and Riber Castle to the left).

Continue through the bushes.

Continue on the track, until the Heights of Abraham entrance is reached. During opening season, you can enter to buy refreshments.

Continue through the wood, to the stile.
|
Continue down the lane, for 200/300 yards, until a stile is reached on the right, go over the stile.(Alternatively follow the track down into Bonsall and back home.)

Go through the stile by the gate, turn left, then right.

Then take 1st stile on left, walk down the field and turn right to rear of Townhead Farmhouse. Welcome back! |
